Your Bhutan adventure begins with a remarkable flight on Druk Air, offering breathtaking views over the Himalayas. As you descend into the Paro Valley, you’ll be mesmerized by the aeronautical feat and the thrilling experience of landing in the Kingdom of Bhutan. After clearing immigration and customs at Paro airport, our dedicated guide will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel. Take an evening stroll through the town to soak in the mesmerizing night view of Paro Valley.

This morning, you’ll explore the cultural treasures of Paro. Visit the Ta Dzong, also known as the National Museum, and take a tour of the historic Rinpung Dzong. These engaging activities will keep you busy throughout the morning. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a fortress that has witnessed Bhutanese forces repelling Tibetan invasions. Later in the day, experience the local way of life with a visit to traditional homes of indigenous people. Conclude the day with a visit to Kichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred monasteries in Bhutan. Enjoy a peaceful night’s rest in Paro.

After breakfast, you’ll journey to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city. Along the way, you’ll make a stop at Chuzom, where the rivers from Paro and Thimphu meet. In Thimphu, you’ll explore Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan, which now serves as the School for Bhutanese Studies. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the King’s Memorial Chorten and the magnificent medieval fortress, Tashichhodzong. Your tour continues with a visit to the Handicraft Emporium, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum, and a bustling local market. At the end of the day, relax in your comfortable hotel in Thimphu.

Your morning begins with visits to the National Library, Painting School, and Traditional Medicine Institute. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on a scenic journey to Punakha, the former capital of Bhutan. En route, you’ll make a memorable stop at Dochula Pass, perched at an elevation of 3,050 meters. Here, you’ll take in the captivating views that make Bhutan so enchanting. Upon reaching Punakha, you’ll visit the impressive Punakha Dzong and Khamsm Yulley Namgyel Chhorte. Unwind at your luxurious hotel in Punakha.

In the morning, you’ll explore Punakha Valley, including a visit to the majestic Wangdue Dzong and a local market. As you journey to Gangtey, you’ll traverse rugged terrain and dense vegetation, making it a remarkable and adventurous day. In the evening, you’ll have the chance to stroll through Gangtey village and visit Gangtey Gompa, the only Nyingmapa Monastery in the region. Spend the night at a guesthouse or camp.

This morning, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the enchanting Phobjikha Valley, renowned for its winter roosting ground for the endangered Black Necked Cranes. As early winter visitors, these migratory birds grace Gangtey Valley with their presence. Your journey takes you to Trongsa in the afternoon, passing through the challenging terrain of Pele la pass. Later, explore the local market and settle in for the night at a comfortable lodge in Trongsa.

Start the day with a quick visit to Trongsa Dzong, a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture, and Ta Dzong, a watchtower now transformed into a museum. In the afternoon, your journey proceeds to Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan. As evening descends, enjoy some leisure time, followed by dinner and a restful night at your Bumthang lodge.

Bumthang, divided into four valleys – Tang, Ura, Chumey & Choekhor, awaits your exploration. The morning’s activities include a visit to Tamshing Monastery, renowned for its religious Buddhist paintings, and Jakar Dzong, the valley’s administrative center. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Kurje Lhakhang, a place of great sacredness. Later, explore Jambay Lhakhang, an ancient monastery dating back to the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan. Take in the local market and spend the night in comfort at your Bumthang lodge.

After a final visit to the local market, you’ll head back to Thimphu. Enjoy lunch at a renowned restaurant in Trongsa town and take a coffee break in Wangduephodrang. Upon arriving in Thimphu, check in to your hotel, have dinner, and rest.

After breakfast, you’ll return to Paro. In the afternoon, embark on an excursion to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. Legends tell the story of the great tantric master, Guru Padmasambhava, who flew on the back of a tigress to meditate at the spot where this extraordinary monastery now stands. While the Taktsang Monastery faced significant fire damage in April 1998, it has been meticulously restored to its original magnificence. Conclude your day with a peaceful night’s rest in Paro.

Your remarkable journey in Bhutan concludes today. After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to your onward destination. This marks the end of your captivating Bhutan adventure.
